Cointracts for any portion of a day are the same price as a full day. A regular day usually ends by 2:15pm. The maximum number of presentations per day is 4. For students, it is best to have only 3 sessions per day (1hr. 30 min. per group). For maximum growth, the same students should be seen during each HBE visit. More can be added to the groups, but the core should remain. Teachers are expected to reinforce techniques between HBE visits. Groups of students are best served with up to 60 students per group, but adult numbers are limited to their ability to see the presentation. The on-grade level students should not attend the sessions to eliminate discouragement to participate by the below-grade level students. Special Ed, multi-level, and other labeled students who will be tested should be included in the groups.
*Contracting 10-15 days over the school year at schools with below 40% passing in Math can move to 80%+ in the first year of using Harriett's teachniques. The same groups of students must be trained during each set of workshop days. Teachers must use the techniques demonstrated on a daily basis until 90% class mastery is achieved.
To accomplish this, classrooms are to be monitored at least once every week by a designated person, who attended each HBE, Inc. training session. Designee is to document students' use of skills taught at previous presentations by Harriett Ball or HBE presenter(s). If the students do not show understanding, the designee is to reinforce and encourage teachers to use the techniques. Every 9 weeks, 'benchmark' tests need to be given to monitor student mastery.
During the last 2 months before state testing, students with like needs are to be grouped in sets of 2-5 and tutored by anyone capable, willing, and have attended the workshops.
